Most of you who have been following me know that I tried out once again for American Ninja Warrior Season 11. This is my 4th submission in the past 5 years and they are now making phone calls to those who were selected to run the course. I actually got to train with a gal this week who got a call to go to the LA tryouts. I will certainly keep y’all posted if I am lucky enough to receive one too.
One of my clients just recently asked me if I am getting frustrated with watching others around me get selected and I have been applying for so long. Yes, it is frustrating but I also know that everything happens for a reason. If I had been selected to tryout any of the past years, I honestly feel that I was not ready to run the course. Obstacle training takes years to perfect and I am just now gaining the confidence and skill that I need to run the course. I am no Ninja Pro, but I am definitely getting stronger and more conditioned.
Moral of the story…….my time will come and if it doesn’t I have had a blast training for something completely outside of my comfort zone. This is by far the hardest training I have ever done in my career and it’s been one heck of a journey seeing how my body has adapted. I will continue to train this year and am planning on competing in my 1st Regional Competition and hopefully qualify for Nationals. I am not one to give up easily and I have learned over the years that patience and persistence are key when conquering fitness goals. I am not giving up and neither should you on your fitness goals!
