Benefits of Sprint Training

I have told my clients time and time again to steer away from doing steady state cardio and lean towards interval training.  Sprint training is probably one of the best forms of interval or HITT (High Intensity Training) training out there and all you need are a pair of running shoes.

Check out this great article my long time client, Chris Reichow sent me.  Chris has been training with me for almost 7 years and when the weather is nice in AZ, we take our training outdoors for sprints at least once a week.  I enjoy getting out of the gym and hitting it hard for a good 45 minutes, rather than doing the same pace on a piece of gym equipment which bores the heck out of me.  Not to mention, interval training will cause my body to burn more fat throughout the day than steady state cardio.  Pay attention to how hungry you are following an intense workout versus a steady paced workout.

I know some of you cannot run, but you can still do interval or HITT training on the spin bike, step mill and by walking on an incline on the treadmill.  Most of the machines have an interval program already built in and all you do is have to push the button.  Remember, “No Excuses and that’s No Mullarkey”!

Be sure and check out this great read in regards to the 8 benefits of sprint training…….
