It’s that time of year again, I love the holiday season and the winter weather in AZ! With the holiday season also comes flu season. I can’t stress enough to my clients and fellow gym goers to PLEASE stay home if you are feeling sick. There are enough germs in the gym as it is and those of us who are healthy appreciate you not contaminating us:)
Listening to your body is not a bad thing either. If you are feeling under the weather the best thing for you is rest, not a workout. Hydration and nutrition are also key in helping you with a speedy recovery. During the winter months I bump up my vitamin C intake to 3,000 mg/day. I also do my best to get all of my vitamins in on a daily basis so I can avoid the dreaded flu. I’m not worth anything to my clients if I am out sick, not to mention I don’t bring in income when I am not at work. There is no such thing as paid sick leave when you are personal trainer.
